There are times when you need more and Skitch (from Evernote) fits the bill. It’s a great utility belt tool for getting quick screenshots to demo or illustrate a point. I wrote about Snipping Tool back in 2011. It is fast, simple and very usable.A tool I use everyday is the Windows Snipping Tool. Then add text, shapes, effects and colors and share your creation online. You can grab screens, scrolling images, active monitors and more. It has been around a few years now and is regularly updated. It is an open source app that plays nicely with most computers and has a huge range of tools. ShareX is my final entry into this list of alternatives to Skitch. As this works within Chrome you can use it on any device that can run the browser. Like the others in this list of Skitch alternatives, you can add shapes, colors, text and effects. It can also automatically upload your screenshots to Google Drive. It is free, easy to use and has a few tools to play with too. Awesome ScreenshotĪwesome Screenshot is a Google Chrome extension that grabs screenshots inside and outside of Chrome. One neat feature it has is being able to magnify one screen element which is excellent for tutorials and the like. It can capture just about anything, add text, shapes, colors and effects and then upload to cloud storage. Aside from that, the program is very good at what it does. This is another app for those with a screenshot habit as it is pricey ($39.99). Apowersoft Mac ScreenshotĪpowersoft Mac Screenshot does precisely what it says, it’s a Mac app that takes screenshots. The downside is the price, at $24.99 it isn’t cheap even though it is good. You can capture scrolling screens with this app too, offering an excellent resource of eLearning or tutorial writers. You can then share easily from within the app. The UI is simple and comes with a range of tools to add shapes, colors, effects, text and whatever you like. PicPick is a great pick-up and use app for grabbing screenshots. That’s fine if you don’t have a library of existing images but not so great if you already have a collection. Once you save them you cannot edit them any further either. The main issue with this app is that you cannot modify existing images or screenshots, only ones you take in Lightshot Screenshot. It is a matter of seconds to add text, shapes and whatever and then upload. The UI is simple, with the screen grab in the center and a menu on the right and at the bottom. It is limited in its application but is free. Lightshot Screenshot is a free Mac app that works as a viable alternative to Skitch. It’s one of the best Skitch alternatives out there right now. This app has been very well reviewed and with good reason. You can then share them as you see fit from within the app. You can add shapes, colors, text and effects to your screenies and save in a number of image formats. There are more tools here than in Annotate but the UI isn’t quite as polished. Pinpoint is another iOS app that lets you grab screenshots with little fuss. Once done you can export your image to a number of other programs to do with as you see fit. The tools are straightforward to use and can do most things you would want to do with a screenshot. It can even grab scrolling screens which is a neat touch. It’s a powerful, free program that quickly grabs the screen and lets you play to your heart’s content. Greenshot is a Windows app that does a good job where Skitch left off.

In a statement to Hyperallergic which was also shared with the Gothamist, Marte denied Maasbach’s allegation, calling it “demonstrably false.” Maasbach claimed that some of the elderly protesters were “paid” by a local politician to attend the demonstrations In the interview, Maasbach claimed that she was told by some of the “elderly protesters” that they were “paid” to attend the demonstration by City Council candidate Christopher Marte, who’s known for his opposition to the city’s jail expansion plan. The demands for Maasbach’s resignation were prompted by an interview she gave to the Gothamist after last week’s protest. The multi-generational group, ranging from Gen Z activists to septuagenarian community members, called to boycott MOCA for “promoting displacement and racism” against Chinatown residents. Last week, a coalition of activists and community members staged a protest during the museum’s reopening after more than a year of closure. A protest that followed the press event culminated in shouting matches between the protesters and the museum’s facilities manager, Jeff Reynolds, who attempted to interrupt their speeches. In a press conference outside the museum yesterday, July 18, protesters called for the resignation of the museum’s director Nancy Yao Maasbach, accusing her of making “blatant racist and ageist insults” against seniors from the neighborhood. The question is just how useful those further casts will be. AGI allows you to quicker cast your next Frost Bolt / Icicle Shot and scales quite well. So this leaves you with AGI and the second route of multiple Frost Bolts.Due to the insanely long cooldown of Icicle Shot, it isn’t worth considering STR for the damage. What you gain per point of INT is really underwhelming, but if all your care is your first Frostbolt, then this is probably still the best you can choose.Or do you want multiple Frost Bolts for prolonged battles? There is a minor decision here, which is centered around: Do you want one Frost Bolt, because this is your opener, and you don’t care about anything later. You need 13 STR, because you want that AoE asap.Generally the Cryomancer should be the last character to get items and imho it isn’t worth leveling up its building, because you really don’t need those items nor the extra XP.There are gladiators, where you wish you would get 10 or 15 points per level up, because there are so many critical stats you need sooner than later.-0.03 Icicle Shot cooldown (caps at 156 AGI, +433% improvement).-0.005 Icicle Shot execution time (caps at 100 AGI, +100% improvement). ![]()

Key considerations during testing include the following: type of device, duration of contact with the human body, and nature of contact with the human body ( Table 2). During device development, the stringent testing of physical and chemical properties is regulated by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to ensure the mitigation of these risks prior to clinical implementation. Examples of biocompatible medical-grade coating materials include titanium, parylene, and gold. Considerations when selecting a coating include adhesion of the coating to the magnet, avoidance of magnet oxidation during the coating process, and the coating’s durability, biocompatibility, and cost. These limitations are mitigated by hermetically sealing the Nd-Fe-B magnetic core in a durable biocompatible coating. Additionally, Nd is a brittle material that can break easily. Nd and Fe are known to oxidize rapidly in air, leading not only to the corrosion and weakening of the magnet but also to the formation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) that have been shown to be cytotoxic to human cells. Īnother potential limitation is the relatively poor durability and potential toxicity of Nd-Fe-B magnets to human tissues. One limitation of Nd-Fe-B magnets for industrial use is their relatively low Curie temperature, or the temperature at which a material loses its dipole alignment and subsequently its magnetism however, the Curie temperature for Nd-Fe-B at 310 ☌ is well above environmental temperatures in medical use. This corresponds to a magnetic field of approximately 10,000 Gauss, which is 100 times stronger than a household refrigerator magnet at 100 Gauss. Currently, rare-earth elements, such as N52-grade neodymium-iron-boron (Nd-Fe-B), are commonly used for industrial magnetic devices as they have the highest recorded maximum energy product (474 kJ/m 3). ![]() This is known as the energy product (Gauss Oersted or Joules/m 3) which is graded on the N grading system-increasing strength correlating with a higher grade. ![]() The strength of a material is based on the elements that comprise it and is determined by the product of a material’s strength as well as the force required to demagnetize it (i.e., coercivity). The utility of a magnetic material in surgical device development is dependent on its strength, durability, and mitigation of potential toxicity in the human body. Biomedical Considerations for Magnetic Surgical Devices Paired magnets to form compression anastomosis between proximal common bile duct and stomach or duodenumĢ.
